ARTIST STATEMENT

At ten months old I picked up my first paintbrush, since then it has been an ongoing love affair. Art is something that comes instinctively to me. As a person, it balances who I am and what my purpose is in society. Growing up I was introduced to a broad range of different cultures and forms of dance; this helped me develop the way I perceive reality. I also became adept in a variety of different mediums early in life and love working with a varying range to explore concepts. I am influenced greatly by nature; my surroundings and movement are key to how I continue to grow in my concepts. In my work, there is no shyness of color, for color is the voice of art. Every hue, value, and saturation lets you perceive reality in a different way. My styles and techniques are still evolving and adapting, and will hopefully never stop.

ABOUT GABBY GILL

Gabby Gill is an artist, photographer, designer, painter and creative entrepreneur currently working out of Northern Virginia. Born and raised in Manassas, Va. She received her BFA from James Madison University with a Studio Art Emphasis in Photography. She has participated in many art exhibitions, and her work is part of private collections all over the US. Her work explores numerous different mediums including photography, digital, painting, fibers, ceramics, screen printing, and more
